I am just sitting here after a "date night" with my husband Jas, watching Redbox movies. The funny part is that as sweet as it was, we had to start the first movie at about 12:30 a.m. Yeap! We are finishing up the second and final one a little after 3 a.m. The twins had their 4 month shots today. Boy are they growing up fast. A lot faster than their older sister, Kimber. Bailey weighs 15 lbs. 3 oz. Kimber didn't weigh 15 lbs until she was about a year old!!! Even now, at 2 years of age, she is only 21lbs. Anyway, Bradley weighs 14 lbs. 14 oz. And they are both about 25 inches long. They did well with their shots. However, Bailey SCREAMED and turned blood red. Bradley, on the other hand, whimpered at the first stick and was smiling by the time the nurse was putting on his band aids. What a trooper he was!! They are right on eachother's heals in the growth department! The funniest part is that Bradley was just Ooohing and Cooing up a storm for about 2 weeks. Bailey was real quiet. The next thing I know, Bailey is Cooing non-stop and now Bradley is the quiet one. I laugh and tell people that in their own "twin language," Bailey pretty much told Bradley to just shut up. Being a Mom is so wonderful. Being a Mom plus a Mom of twins is a amazing!!! I only wish I was able to do pictures the way my Mom did with me and my sisters. There is a certain photo that comes to my mind. We each had our picture taken in a long gown with a bonnet, standing up beside a white, child rocker that had a rag doll in the seat. I guess we were all about 12-18 months old. I can't get that stuff together with my kids!!!!! The twins haven't even had their pictures taken professionally outside of the hospital pic. And we couldn't even order that. I have a wonderful friend in Letcher County that will take their pictures anytime just about. But,we aren't down there often enough to make it happen. I will have to just buy my own backdrops and FORCE myself to slow down the household and do it myself. Kimber is 2, so now is a good time to start a "photo tradition" with the girls.Kimber, she is a true HAM!! She ran around all day with just a t-shirt on at my grandmother's house while we were at the dr. office with the twins. That was their way of trying to help potty train her. She knows how to wipe, what it means to "pee," and she even brings you the diaper and a wipe when she needs a clean diaper. So for 3 hours, she never went to the potty. She just went to the "training seat" and watched cartoons. Then all of a sudden, she stands up and said "I pee peed." We had put her on the seat over and over and asked her every 2 mins. if she had to go, but the answer was always NO and she would stand up and find something else to get into. And the one moment we had gotten our minds on something else, she let it go! Back to the drawing board! She can be so funny though. She is putting together small sentences and is starting to repeat stuff she hears. She is singing along with the Subways 5 Dollar commercials. Complete with the hand gestures!! And she is so helpful! Before Christmas, you could ask her to take her cup to the kitchen and put it on the table. After Santa brought her a small kitchen of her own, you tell her to take something to the kitchen, she puts it in the cabinets of her play kitchen. And I can't do laundry alone. She likes to load the washer, (she uses her potty stool to reach the inside of the washer) and helps load the dryer as well. I have enclosed a picture of her when she finished loading her own laundry the other day. She is also just like me in my younger days. She will be walking more on her hands than her feet soon enough. She does the splits, turns forward rolls and asks me to hold her feet to do headstands. The twins are going to learn a lot from her!Anyway. It's about 3 a.m. and this is the quietest part of my night. And it has felt good to just sit and type whatever came into mind. I just hope I haven't bored anyone with my rambling. So until another time, goodnite!
