January 24th, 2009

Today was the day I supposed to be in Ohio for Pop's funeral. I wanted to be there and we were all going as a family. But, my Dad isn't good with emotions. Not at all. He was afraid of bad weather North of us, and chose not to go. There wasn't any bad weather. I feel it was all just my Dad's hesitation because he was so close to Pop. Dad said his self that since he had to bury my Mom, he hasn't handled death the same. I hope they can forgive us for not being there. Jason's Dad and his girlfriend came up last night and they left this morning after breakfast. It was a lovely visit. It was warm enough that they got to play with Kimber outside for a little while. Of course, Gail and I did the boring girl stuff. Our event for the night was to drink coffee and cut coupons. She took the one's I didn't want or need. And we spent time looking at my Mom's many old cookbooks. Mom collected them. I guess it was a couple of years ago my Dad put them in boxes and made three piles. We drew numbers and I got stack 3. I got a lot of good ones I think. We had the biggest laugh at dinner tonight. I made hamburgers. (which I think were the best ever!) Kimber of course doesn't eat hamburgers. But she loves to acknowledge that that is what we are having. So she climbs up in the big chair, without her booster seat, and starts peaking in the bag of hamburger buns. "buger," she said. So, Jas offered her a bite of his burger. "No," she quickly snapped. But then she snuck her little fingers in the bag and pulled out a bun. "Mmmm, buger!" she exclaimed, smacking her lips. And of course, it was nothing but bread. So, I snapped a picture of my "meatless burger" eating toddler. The cutest part is that the bun is as big as she is!!!!! And if you couldn't see her, you would think by listening to her that she was eating this big whopper of a burger!Oh, and don't let me forget this one. Bradley has been so close to rolling over onto his back that I can't stand myself. Today they turned 5 months old. I laid him down for bed after about 8 p.m or so. On his belly because I just feel if they are going to spit up, this is the best position for it. And I like it that way. Anyway, around 10:30 p.m I went to check on both Bradley and Kimber who were sleeping in the room. I looked over in Bradley's crib and TA DAH!!! He was laying his back. And we didn't put him there!!! I am so proud of him!!! What a way to mark the day of their 5th month birthday.Bradley and Bailey are doing really well. We moved a second crib into the Nursery on Friday. So, my babies' room is seriously wall to wall cribs and beds. All together there is 1 toddler bed, 1 chest of drawers, 2 cribs, a toy box and a table and tv in that small little room. Kimber lost a lot of play room adding the second crib. But the twins, God love them, were butting heads or pushed up against the bumper pads because of lack of room. So Friday night was the first night since conception that they haven't been tangled up together. And so far, they are doing great sleeping separately. So now it's way too late in the night, or early in the morning, depending on how you look at it, and I am up on this computer. But not for long. I am headed to bed to salvage what is left of my "beauty" sleep.
